“I am grateful for my father, who keeps me good and sweet. I am grateful for my mother, who keeps her own heart guarded and safe. I am grateful for my adviser, who keeps me protected. I am grateful for the Path, which keeps me pure. Ever after.”
Princess Aislynn has long dreamed about attending her Introduction Ball, about dancing with the handsome suitors her adviser has chosen for her, about meeting her true love and starting her happily ever after.
When the night of the ball finally arrives and Nerine Academy is awash with roses and royalty, Aislynn wants nothing more than to dance the night away, dutifully following the Path that has been laid out for her. She does not intend to stray.
But try as she might, Aislynn has never quite managed to control the magic that burns within her-magic brought on by wicked, terrible desires that threaten the Path she has vowed to take.
After all, it is wrong to want what you do not need. Isn’t it?
2014 is a great year for retellings, apparently. And I couldn't be happier, since I love a good retelling.
The premise for "Stray" is really intriguing and not something I have seen done before quite like this.
On a side note, I am not really a fan of the cover.
What about you? What are you "waiting on" this week? Let me know in the comments!
Sounds intriguing. I love re tellings too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my WOW earlier.
Sure is! I haven't actually read that many though, I like them, but it's ones I tend to stray from, don't even know why, haha. Sounds great though! :)

ReplyDeleteI love retellings! and for some reason i actually like the cover. Thanks for sharing, it's a great pick!
ReplyDeleteI looove retellings, fairytales and anything related! The concept of this one sounds amazing! But I agree, the cover is lost to me - they could have gone with something really creative and imaginative. I hope they do a redo before release, or perhaps, the paperback!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick! Happy reading :)
